Machining the Cylinder Block

The cylinder block casting was clamped to the mill table using a socket head cap screw and strap.  The casting was shimmed to align the OD perpendicular to the mill table and the casting was faced .  The casting was then flipped end for end and the operation repeated using the first machined surface as a reference.
The cylinder block was set up in a 4 jaw chuck on the lathe and centered on the block OD.  The block was bored to accept the cylinder liner
Once faced and bored, the cylinder block was setup on the Cube.  The block was aligned visually using the sides of the water hopper pad.  Paper shims were used to protect the surface of the Cube.
Mounting surfaces for the water hopper, ignitor, and push rod guide have been machined.
Cylinder block mounting surfaces have been drilled and tapped.
